Note: Starting May 2010 the Phusion Blood DNA polymerase in the kit will be replaced with the new Thermo Scientific Phusion Blood II DNA Polymerase. The new polymerase allows more flexibility to primer design. No changes are needed to excisting protocols or primers.

Thermo Scientific Phusion^® Blood Direct PCR Kit is designed for amplification of DNA from whole blood. It eliminates the need for a separate DNA purification step prior to PCR. The kit utilizes a modified Thermo Scientific Phusion^® Hot Start II High-Fidelity DNA Polymerase. This highly processive and robust PCR enzyme is resistant to the inhibitors present in blood and retains its activity even at 40 % blood concentration. Phusion Blood Direct PCR Kit allows analysis of blood samples with different anticoagulants, storage conditions and from various species.

No need for DNA extraction
Allows up to 40 % blood in the PCR reaction
Tolerates heparin, citrate, and EDTA, and is compatible with frozen blood or blood stored on various types of filter papers
