Phire® Plant Direct PCR Kit allows efficient PCR from various plant leaves and seeds

Various amplicons from mitochondrial or genomic DNA were succesfully amplified with Phire Plant Direct PCR Kit. Piko® Thermal Cycler and UTW® reaction vessels were used in PCR.

A) Sample discs from Arabidopsis, Capsicum and maize leaves were cut with Harris Uni-Core 0.50 mm and placed into 50 µl PCR reactions.

B) Small samples were cut from dehulled tomato, maize and apple seeds and placed into 20 µl PCR reactions. Phire Plant Direct PCR Kit was used to amplify fragments of plant mitochondrial DNA in two replicate reactions from each sample. The fragment produced varied in size depending on the plant species used. + and - denote control reactions with or without purified DNA.
